About

Hi everyone, welcome to my page!

I’m Seema and am delighted you bumped into my blog amid heaps of websites out there.

At the moment, I live in picturesque Dehradun with my wonderful hubby, who doubles up as recipe taster :) (Yes, we both are food lovers and it certainly helps when I am trying out new recipes!)

His love for food makes him jump into the kitchen to help me occasionally, but I don't mind a helping hand!

That's me and my son, Avi

Our effervescent boy, Avi, adds substance with his pranks and rounds off our little family. Avi did his first year of under graduation from the University of Essex, England. But somehow, he did not enjoy his time there and came back last year.

Right now, he's trying to weigh different options besides helping me set up this blog. My hubby is into content management and consulting business, helping new enterprises grow to become bigger brands.

In my “free” time I love to travel, explore the woods, and catch up with family, and friends. Unfortunately, that "free" time is a rarity.

A little more about me

My family and friends know me as a woman of multiple facets. Since the age of about three and a half, I began reading in my native language (Bengali).

My beautiful mom used to help me initially with all the difficult words but I was a quick learner and began reading little illustrated stories on my own in no time. In early teens, I began writing Hindi poems on different topics.

My interest in reading kept on growing, not surprising though as Bengalis have a natural inclination towards literature and creative pursuits. It did not take much time before I had crossed 100 benign poems!

My wonderful dad surprised me on my sixteenth birthday - he gifted me a book of poems written by none other than me! Yes, he got my poems compiled into a book and also happily distributed among his colleagues, family and friends.

Such an unforgettable and beautiful gesture from my loving father, a turning point for me from where my interest in reading and writing got even more profound.

That's me!

Cooking is my love and passion. Besides normal cooking, I like to try, and innovate new cuisines from across India and the world. My dishes are simple, yet delicious. The cakes that I bake are adored by everyone immensely.

I inculcated my cooking skills from my loving mom, who was an exceptional cook as she cooked heavenly dishes from simple ingredients.

She was our master chef who had mastered 100s of traditional and modern recipes right from starters, main course, and desserts. I sourly miss her and her love-laced dishes.

She has been my biggest inspiration and that is how it always be! I dedicate this blog to her and her beautiful memories deep inside my heart.

Besides cooking, I like to travel and had planned to travel to Europe in 2020, but that's deadwood now! Apparently, I will have to wait until 2021 to fulfill my European plans.

I also like to follow the fashion trends but at the same time am eternally in love with ethnic dresses, especially sarees. I deeply admire the music of soft genres. I even learned classical music during my school days, yet another Bengali trait!

That's me and my hubby, Aseem

A little about my education and professional journey so far

By education, I am an MBA and a science graduate. I have had the privilege of working with some of the top-notch telecom companies including Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, and Reliance Communications in different capacities across India.

I am happy that I have always made my parents and family proud as I have been consistently recognized by all the organizations as an honest, dedicated, and exceptional leader.

Currently, I am working as a Senior Regional Manager in an Education Company leading a team of people to market AI-based learning solutions for school children.

Why I started this blog?

The reason for starting this blog is that I wish to share my recipes that have been applauded by one and all over the years for being exceptional and simply yum!

Everyone who eats at our place invariably wants me to share the recipes, secret tricks, and tips that take my dishes to another level. So, here I am! Also, people yearn to know if the delicious cakes I offer them are really home-made?

They find them too good to be baked and decorated at home! That's pretty inspiring and a good reason for me to share my baking and cooking skills with the world, at last :)

Then, I would like to share DIY tips for personal care, beauty, healthy eating, and general well-being. I hope my son and hubby would add value to my blog with their contributions in fitness & sports, books, wealth among others.

I hope to see you around enjoying the content and videos that we (hopefully my son and my hubby would help me!) would create at regular intervals.

Once again, I would like to thank you for being here, really appreciate your time!

Stay happy and blessed!
~Seema
